ZTE CORP., DELL, ACCENTURE, AND SYMANTEC FIRST QUARTER REPORT 2009 - TBR HIGHLIGHTS - Sponsored Whitepaper

TBR Position Statement ZTE continued to enjoy strong growth in 1Q09, as revenue increased 35% year-to-year, including an impressive 47% year-to-year growth rate in its carrier networks business. The company witnessed a sharp increase in revenue from Chinese network 3G deployments, and also won a significant share of tenders for supply of Chinese 3G network equipment and terminals. ZTE continues to make strides in capturing business from Tier-1 operators in Europe, and has invested in sales and marketing staff to expand its presence in North America. Thus far, the company has had success with major European operators, but has not yet broken through with Tier-1 U.S. operators.

Dell is reshaping its acquisition strategy to focus on larger opportunities. Short of a new wave of corporate PC buying – something that Dell does not anticipate until 2010 – or a major acquisition, the PC maker faces several additional quarters of declining or lowsingle- digit revenue growth. TBR expects Dell to pursue one or more major acquisitions in the services, outsourcing or software space as a major purchase which would jumpstart its revenue growth in the enterprise
space.

Accenture’s key focus is on managing its business in an economic downturn and preparing for future growth opportunities as the market rebounds. Accenture’s 2Q09 net revenue decreased 15.7% year-to-year in U.S. dollars and 4% in local
currency. Operating margin was 14.2%, up from 12.9% in 1Q09 and 14.1% in 2Q08. TBR believes that “cost-containment” and “fueling growth” are the key themes for Accenture in the next 6 to 12 months.
