Just as people are what they eat, software companies are not what they divest. CA’s acquisition record over the past year and the recently announced divestiture of its Information Governance Business illustrates the company’s priorities and strategy. After making several cloud-related acquisitions across late 2009 and early 2010, CA announced its cloud management strategy at CA World. Cloud-Connect Management Suite includes four different cloud products which were developed using the technologies from acquired companies 3Tera, Oblicore and Cassatt. The products, which are called Cloud Insight, Cloud Compose, Cloud Optimize and Cloud Orchestrate, provide customers with the tools to make cloud efforts cost effective, especially in running business and IT processes, through an approach that is similar to supply chain management.
